Project 1-1: Inspiration and Storyboard

Before I started working on the project, I thought about whether or not to continue working on the story about kids waking up. Because the project required a lot of scenes, and the content itself was not very creative. So I started thinking about scrapping the last project and starting a new one.

The inspiration for this project comes from the games I play regularly. It often designs clothes for characters. And some of them selects elements from traditional festivals and applies them to their creations.

I chose the Mid-Autumn Festival, using the moon and lotus elements. Plus, I’ve always loved traditional dance. After making a lot of ideas and adjustments, I came up with this project.

Here is an example:

One character’s clothing in Game Honor Of Kings

The feeling of falling petals is also in line with the requirements of this project.

Here is my reference. I found some dancing videos for moving reference.

So I put all this together, and I designed a little piece, and this is the storyboard:

At first, I want to focus on a lotus blooming. Along with the blossom, a small flower fairy appears in the centre of the lotus. Then she began to dance. As the dance stops, the camera focuses on the direction of her hand. The camera then moves to the moon, following the movement of her finger. Finally, the camera zooms out to show all the scenes.
